Hooray!
Congratulations on your maiden voyage - i'm sure the problem will be rectified in no time!
Gave GTI81 a good blat out to Clayton today, she behaved impeccably and got quite a few looks, but when I needed to go out about an hour later on to the shops, couldn't get her to start and the fuel pump sounds like it's struggling a bit. Suspect a bit of crap has partially blocked the filter enough to prevent enough fuel getting through to the injectors.
So, not the opening weekend in a registered GTi that I was hoping for (shame I had a couple of beers this arvo so wifey has to drive us out in the Corollaskate tonight)...
Watch this space.

Cant wait to let GTI81 meet GTI081 !!
A mk1 maiden voyage always becomes interesting last time i got my mk1 back on the road i was doing hot laps around my street with no exhaustgood luck hope you get it sorted.
having ummed and ahhed about the house all afternoon, finally went down to the garage about half fourish, stuck the key in the igniton and after a lot of of swearing and cajoling Helga (yes, i've named my car, shoot me) finally burst into life reluctantly. took her for a quick spin around the block. whatever was blocking the filter (assuming it was that) clearly isn't any more. might take it all apart next weekend just in case, would hate to be in the middle of nowhere and the same thing happens.
