    The car looks great

Has it been repainted at all or original, with some good polishing work?

As far as i'm aware mate it's all original paint work. I just spend a lot of time cleaning and polishing when I do wash her haha. The body is pretty immaculate, however there is a few fade marks on the roof, and the bonnet isn't perfect either. But if it is original paint as I suspect that's still bluddy good for the age! I'm way happy with it for the moment anyway

So, as I haven't updated this in awhile I thought I should let anybody interested in on what's been happening lately!
Most importantly, the golf is finally off daily duties. So no more 500km weeks for her! Obviously this means I have a new car as well to daily, so last Monday I purchased my first (new) car! A 2011 Proton S16. Pretty dope car for the money, I got it as a promotion the dealership where doing for their one year birthday of having the Proton franchise. So it came with free tint, body kit, metallic paint and wheels (amongst other handy things). Plus it get's me from a-to-b which is what I was after initially haha.
Back to the Mk1 however, she has finally been stricken with broken parts that have disabled me from driving her. Said parts are to do with the cooling system. I've purchased a new copper/brass radiator and am going to order a complete set of Samco hoses as well (coolant/ancillary) along with the relevant hose clamps. Both items which have a series of leaks in them, i'll also test the thermostat and see if that needs replacing too whilst i'm at it. The water pump is only a few months old thankfully so I don't have to add that to the list of parts to replace too! This means, that finally the golf is ready to be worked on! Plans so far, is to start building up a nippy cruise car. As my list on the first page, the suspension will be covered once I get it all put together and add some anti-roll bars. Then onto brakes!
Ultimately i'm trying to stay as OEM(+) as possible so until I think of another idea i'll be rebuilding the 1.6L from the ground up and adding twin 40 Webers. As always, everything I will be doing myself! This thread will be updated very slowly, but it will be updated, and things will always be happening!
So keep in tune if you're interested, and happy dubbing guys!
Have some photo's! I washed both cars today

Spent almost 2months waiting for these!
Still waiting on a few things though, mostly due to cost.
Then time to start pulling everything apart and get this running again!
