Question lightened flywheel ?? clutch advise??

should i lighten my flywheel motor is fairly worked
    as is in other thread
but is there much to be gained by taking a third
    or quarter off the weight
and where is the best place to get a 200 mm clutch kit
from and is there more than one type in that size
already ordered wrong one once thought it was a 210mm
they might not be so nice if i order the wrong one again
    thanks

Depends on wether you want torque or acceleration a lightened flywheel will pickup rpm quicker but because the rotating mass will be less therefore less stored energy ergo less tourque we pulled a heap of weight from the flywheel of another car we own and revs out much better but you use the gearbox much more with a car already modified to rev harder I would simply clean up the flywheel and get it balanced

    1.6 is 190mm GTI Is 210mm
    I think 200 must be a Diesel
There was a new clutch kit for 200mm on Ebay recently, check the completed listings.
I`d change the flywheel and put the common 210mm clutch on it

I reckon the 210 is 1800 GTI. The 200 I think is 1600 GTI and 190 for everything else. Could of course be talking rubbish!!

    thanks for the advice
my old clutch was 180mm by the tape
and ended up rather purple, flywheel as well
makes sence that it would be a diesel flywheel
its has a lot weight to it than the old one
not long brought this flywheel was ment to be 210 mm
but i'll as long as it holds a bit better than old clutch
i'll be happy and also funds are short
was thinking of balancing as well, as old one was
so i will lighten it i bit and balance
    thanks guy's

A mate of mine took the standard flywheel, had it turned out to a larger diameter (i think 200mm) and threw the big clutch in it, you lose your little alignment nobs, but you get a light flywheel and a big clutch cheap cheap.
