Late model dash to 76 loom?

    Hey guys,

I've asked this about 3 years ago and todate I still haven't given it ago : ).

So maybe during this time more ppl have tried this out and have some tips for me.

So whats the easiest way to wire up a Series II dash to a 76 MKI 2door loom.

    The dash.

Anyhow going to take it all off and have a crack for the first time tmrw.......only thing that works on it atm are speedo, head lights.

Need water temp, revs, indicator dash light, fuel gauge hazards.....fan.......hmmm.

Change the dash loom and fusebox for the later one and plug the rest of the car loom into it. That will also get rid of those horrid cigar shaped fuses.

I have a couple of sets if you are in need.

Good to see you back in the Golf fold Will.

just to let everyone know I'd had a WIN! with this one. it was much much easier that first thought after all these years.

All you need to do is look up the dash wiring diagram in the manual, match the wires to pin slots on the 14pin plug that goes into the display at the back of the dash and trace each wire from there to the fuse box to make sure it went into the right hole in the connector that plugs into the fuse box.

reading the diagram and learning how to trace the wire was taught to me by a one Obey one'Breutmann.

WIN!!!! now I have all of the essentials working on the dash.
