Good call Loon. New brake slave cylinder fitted. Will bleed when I have an assistant..

    Couple of Kjet Wiring Q's
I have a couple of questions about the kjet wiring diagram (see link).
    1) Where/what is the 'Ignition Start (starter)' that powers the Cold Start Valve and Temp Sender?
Is that from the starter motor (as this stops after ignition) or does it mean constant power from when the ignition is engaged?

I would have thought the sensor would need to run for a few seconds, i.e. the cold start mech would need constant power upon ignition, as it will shut off when temp rises..

    2) What the hell is a TCI switch?
In the original wiring thread Golfworx says "It doesn't have the TCI switch in there, as that's very easy to wire in."
Easy is such a relative term LOL!
I noticed a three pronged plug up at the start of the intake manifold is this it? I assume that plug has something to do with controlling the butterflies during cold start?

TCI switch relates to electronic ignition, which hopefully you are running on your car. Its a little rectangular box with 7? connectors that goes to the dissy, the coil and earth and power. You can run kjet with a points dissy, but it has limitations.

Ignition start circuit sends power from the starter when its cranking to the coldstart to chuck more fuel in when starting. If you have the wrong starter you wont have this. You could use a switch if you dont mind the ghetto look

The switch on the throttle boddy is probably the wide open throttle switch. Not used on some kjet cars, depends what throttle body you are using.

The Stu managed to get that setup working, maybe he`d be prepared to help if you get stuck.

    Good Luck.

    Thanks Loon,
Have got it running since last post (albeit roughly).
It took a couple of days but did some trouble shooting:
    1) It was running far too advanced, not wanting to fire
    2) Bad starter earth (tested using multimeter) was stopping it turning over fast enough.
The second one was the kicker, lots of theorising about starter match up problems, came back to a simple problem.
+I'm running an old 1.6 starter (so no extra cold start terminal) and had piggy backed the cold start off one of the solinoid wires. This didn't seem to work (wouldn't start) and engine started once removed.

Have electronic ignition, but have been running it with points to simplfy timing etc.. I've wiring already installed (from coil etc) for the elec-ing, but can't locate a TCI switch on the engine (does anyone have a photo?).

P.s - Already been hassling The stu! Thanks stu, owe you a few beers when this is done
