Just read this thread from start to end over 2 nights and loved it. Started after I sourced a nice 2 door MK1 so I've been all inspired by your handy work.
My oldies are up at Wentworth Falls, when I get my MK1 through blue slip you'll probably see me running around the mountains.

All good news, another one on the road will make me smile.

Glad you enjoy the build. Right now I am not having a great struggle with my motivation on the main component of the build being the motor. Hopefully I can find some more soon, once I have the interior back in and have had it around the block a few times on the new brakes.

Wound the back down 2" but need to raise it up again another 1/2" to level it out. Loving this car. The simplicity is just so rewarding.

So back into a weekend on the weiß and managed to remove a bit of stuff.

To drop the rear beam without a hoist you need to lift things up a little.

Because you need to remove the beam, my favourite lift point is no longer so I needed to be creative.

With enough room to slide about on a creeper I got underway.

The hardest part of removing the rear beam was not rounding off the flare nuts on the brake hard lines.

Unlucky for me the fuel tank had 30 litres in it... I wore a bit of it.

All out ready to tidy things up, run larger fuel lines and bolt up the new goodies!
