195/50/15 is pretty close in rolling diameter to the 175/70/13 spec of the time.

You had 175/70/13?We could only afford the skinny 165/70/13.I used to dream of fitting the wider tyres to my Golf back in the 70's. 175's, a fox tail aerial and fuzzy dice and you were king of the hill.

    So my first maintenance required.

I put 20 litres in at the service station and went to the coffee shop, came back and smelt a lot of petrol in the air. Head under the car and the amount of petrol dripping from the engine bay was epic.

Turns out there was line on the fuel return, so I located it and put it back together and all seems well. While I was there I adjusted the accelerator linkage.

Pretty simple these 1.6 carby cars, I sort of miss the simplicity.

Heh, i still have a real fox tail somewhere. I got 2 and my mate had one on his Hilux.. Until his dog jumped on the bonnet and ripped it to pieces. hahaha.

Sitting here I think I have nearly nutted my tyre situation out. Not done any real work to note.

ATS with 195/45 R15 for general beat about use (ie winter wheels)

BBS 6.5" Rims will have the rears widened to 7.5" in time for rear once the guards are flared and the math works out. Fronts I think should have 165/50/15 and then I am not so sure on the rears. 185 might be best (hard to find) or 195/45...

In other news, I ordered some chrome for the outside and some neato interior bits this week.

I'd go a 185/45 for the rear, 195 will be too large, espcially in comparison to the front, imo.
