Well said. I'm lucky enough to have one of each. Although I still try and not spend money when I don't have to..

I'm a bit self conscious about revealing all the parts I've sourced for this build now. :-/

I feel like I'm being converted to a form of religion. Hahaha!

Mk1 Religion - Hear and read stories of past & present legends and every Sunday morning head out to the garage and pray to the gods of mechanicals in the hope of a miracle.

Religion? No. (I certainly hope not!! haha)

I always try and find practical answers. For example.. Mk1 electrical issues aren't an act of God. They're a combined act of age and dodgy previous owners. Haha.

It certainly is not prosperity doctrine this Mk1 religion, I can tell you that.

However, I have sold more parts than bought this week which is a first. Clearly I have been too busy (work and also figuring out to retrofit RNS into the Multivan) to spend time on eBay haha.

So I'm yet to decide. When I go 16v do I keep the S1 dash and splice into the original clocks, or, install a S2 dash with later model clocks?

Am not sure how hard the adaptation to the S1 clocks would be with the digi loom?

If you butcher a 76er with a late model dash, it's on like Donkey Kong, Mik..

I think based on the commentary in this thread you can do whatever you like, but just not in this thread.
