My MK1 cost me $1000. I sold my MK2 for $1600 to finance it and spent the other $600 on bills. So far everything I've used to fix the MK1 I've scrounged from the tip and mates who are throwing out bits they don't want. I've got another almost complete MK1 2 door headed my way as soon as Josh finishes taking out the bits he wants (motor, gbox, suspension and exhaust).MK1's are supposed to be restored and run on a shoestring. The ones that actually have money thrown at them are really special.
