Like a rat with a gold tooth , love it brother.
Gotta say on a serious note , how mad this thing looks in person , has realy come together, with the addition of some nice simple details , it reminds me why i am so in love with the timeless design and ethos of the mk1, great work pal.
Spot on mate. The solution is temporary but you need to be sure to do your research to get the most suitable solution as there won't be a cage in there.
Found even more leaks yesterday. I parked it in the rain and just looked everywhere for moisture coming in. Firewall, front quarter light seals etc. Nothing serious but best to action a fix sooner than later.

Removed nearly 35 years of belly button lint from the doors, including the clearing out of the drain holes. Also siliconed up some holes on the firewall.
And I'm loving this more than ever as a place to spend time.
Wow, look like really comfy seats, they sitting on the original rails?

No....its not a Piss-sat its a Pass-sat!!
Great work Mik, digging all the stuff that's happening. I'll have to drop in if I ever make it down to Sydney.
Have you thought anymore about whether you're going 16v or keeping it more old school?

My Mk1 Project
Pretty certain I'm headed for the KR 1.8 16v from the green car, taken out to 1.9 on 11.5:1 compression with ITBs on standalone engine management. But that's still a fair way off to be honest. Money and time are always a premium around my place so outside estimate is 12-18 months before I get close to being finished with that.
I have to do something though as the engine is throwing 300ml/tank into the catch can.
Sounds like a great plan to me!
