Yeah the air con was put in as an option the kit is from Volkswagen Texas has stickers all over it, it needs gas and the gas required is illegal now I believe. But I have been in a mk1 with a similar air con setup and it was rubbish.

2.0 mk4 golf (SOLD)
mk1 76 4door ( long project)
Mind me asking a question? When you used body filler to smooth out the engine bay, waht brand did you use, and do you think it matters what brand is used? For eg, to with stand heat, good adhesion etc. Thanks !
- Orange Golf mk1 LS, 1.8 5speed, 32/36 - sold
- Golf mk1 Swallowtail rebuild, completely stripped
- Brown U.S import 81 cabby
- 88 Honda crx b18cr
good work!
Bay is super neat!
Not running yet only thing left is wiring this is what im up to.
Then need to decided what im doing with the interior .
Some people say it matters the really only differences is how smooth and easy the filler is to apply, but im my case everything was plated and welded in the engine bay. Around the towers was spot welded, then i used fiberglass filler to finish the smoothing then a small amount of normal filler to smooth it out. Fiberglass filler is alot stronger than normal filler and will hold up against movement and wont just crack. That's the advantages but its a pain to work with, doubles the time of the job but worth it!! I used 3M filler and 3M fibreglass from supercheap.GeorgeMK1
