    Introducing "Renate" - April 1979 Mk1 GLS

I've been admiring this car for sometime, and thanks to an opportunity I was able to give her a new home.

The previous owner was given the task of making her suitable for driving for a relative, but circumstances changed mid-ship and I was offered the little beauty almost finished. She hasn't got the best coat of paint, but a lot of it is original. Don't get me wrong... She's no concourse winner, but a bloody good start... The original brief handed to the previous owner was only to tidy her up.... That he did, and very well!

For rego she will need brakes.... All in all I plan to keep her original, in all her glory...

    See my Diesel Project?

She has a bit of tidying up to do under the bonnet too, as there is surface rust creeping in. She was stored for some time, close to salt water, so little spots of rust are appearing which will need to be tended to!

I'll be seeking advice along the way...

Thanks PPL... I will post some proper pics once we get some semi decent days on the weekends.... Or more daylight in the evenings...

It does look good in the photos, but does still need some detailing... I'm sometimes over critical....
I'm very happy with what I got so far as deal for $$$... Very tidy inside too... I may get some more photos tonight with a REAL camera, not just the phone...
