idling issue
hi people.
about a month ago i got rid of the horrid stock carb on my 1.6L and replaced it with a 32/36 weber. it ran awsome! a few days ago i noticed that after driving it for a while when the engine reaches operating temp, the idle is all over the place.
normally it idled around 1000rpm, now it jumps from 1000, to 250 and then back up and then its prone to fall to 250 and stay there. this only happens after a 20min drive before then its fine.
it still drives the same as before, nice and smooth thru all gears, revs smoothely, its just an idling issue.
for some reason i have a feeling it might be ignition related but let me know what you guys think. after all, im new to 4 bangers!
most ignition parts have been replaced, everything but the points and condensor.
this is my daily so i'd prefer to solve this issue fairly soon as its very annoying.
also whats the best way to set the float level on a weber, mines OK but when turing right and deccelerating sharply it has a tendancy to stall. i have fiddled with it but cant quite get it, maybe theres a trick to it???
cheers
john
