    Jeremy Clarkson's solution: the Hammer!
It's worked a few times with a flathead screwdriver on my MkI so far But in all honesty, wait for other people who have finished restoring MkI's to answer to your post.

I wrecked 2 punch already, it still doesn't move. Some UK/US forum suggest heat it up before punch it. I only have heat gun and blow it for few minutes, it should be hot enough, but still doesn't move
If anyone has 2 spare hinge/pin hiding in their garage, please PM me.

Heat and a Punch like the site you viewed said mate. Otherwise soak it for a while with a bit of possum p!55.
Commodores are similar in setup, but are already hard to do after 10 yrs, wait till they are 30yrs old!!! (Special tool for them to)

One of the pins in the hindge on my MKI has been replaced by a bolt, maybe you could do the same if no luck finding pins?

Get someone with an oxy to help you. That's not heat.. you just warmed it up..

You'll need to really heat it up till it changes colour, then give it a go.
