Did you bleed the system properly?
After driving and braking for a few minutes the air in the lines will expand (from the heat) and make the brakes drag.
I replaced my braking system on my 1975 Passat (same system as a Mk1 golf). I replaced the brake booster with a seat ibiza, got a 22mm MC, got rear proportioning valves for discs, got rear Mk3 disc brakes, got front Audio 80 brakes off a 1986 model. All these parts are pretty much bolt on.
Images of my set up can be seen here http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...tml#post698365
This is my first time upgrading a braking system and I think I done it correct.
However it seems to be sticking. When everything is cold and I start up the car the brakes seem to be normal, when I hit the brakes my brake light comes on and off and the car can be rolled freely and the brakes feel good. However after about a 5 mins of driving the braking system changes. It no longer rolls freely on a little slope and my brake lights are continuously on and you can feel the brakes holding the car back.
I have the pressure brake light switch. So it leads me to believe that there is still pressure in my brake system when my foot is off the brake.
FYI The hose that goes from my brake booster to the intake manifold is very soft and flimsy. I could compress all the pistons when I put them on in the beginning (The left rear was a bit stubborn).
However Im not sure where to go from here on. Need some help on this issue.

The air in the lines? There should be no air in the lines - it's a hydraulic system, not a pneumatic system. Bleeding is to eliminate the air (!!).
Huss, it sounds like you don't have the one-way valve on the booster vacuum line. In any case, what you have is a vacuum problem. Can you post a pic of your booster/MC?![]()

Im pretty sure I bled the brakes properly.
Ok I just went and pulled off the one-way valve hose which connected to the inlet manifold and started blowing/sucking (no-homo) and it didnt seem to work. Then I pulled the hose and valve off the booster, after a few blows and sucks it started working/half-ass working. So im guessing that maybe it is at fault. Ill get another one on there within the next few days to see if that was just the problem.
FYI when I pulled the one-way valve off the booster there was pressure built up behind. I could hear it being released when I pulled the valve out.

Hi..... You might check that the push rod is not pushing on the piston in the master cylinder when your foot is completly off the pedal. Try winding back any adjustment you have between the pedal and the booster which should in turn should move the push rod back. If you go to far you will loose pedal height. I'm into Mk 1 Golf's so I'm not sure how it's all connected in your Passat. I have had this happen and with the Golf there's a couple of spots you can adjust this.
