    headlight problems

Hey guys, having a few electrical problems in my '76 golf. I went to turn my headlights on the other night and only the parkers came on. The low beams won't turn on. But the high beams come on only when I'm holding the highbeam switch on. I've replaced the headlight relay, headlight switch, ignition switch and indicator stalk assembly. Was thinking of replacing the fusebox aswell, just to eliminate that. I can't think of anything else it could be. Any help would be muchly appreciated.
    Cheers.

Double check that the bulbs haven't blown.

If they are ok check that the headlight switch is sending power when low beam is selected. No power? Backtrack to see where the power stops and what's needed to get it to the switch. If there is power check the wiring at the lights to make sure it's getting power to the headlights. It's usually something simple.

You can buy a great tool for checking power in a wire. It has a plastic hook that you hook over the wire and then push a small metal tip so it goes into the wire to check if it's live. Any auto accessory shop should have one.

    Cheers
