    hatch window seal

    i need to replace my hatch window seal, does anybody know where i can get one and is it easy to put in. would it be the same as an early aircooled vw.

    sorry for the late reply, water was coming in from the tailights ( at least i think ) have to wait for the next rain. i put some silicone round the seals after i cleaned them up so hopefully that will work.

    Check out the seals around the lights, you might be able to pick up something from Clark Rubber or similar to replace the seal around the taillights. Also the seal around the tailgate door is notorious for leaking.

    To test for leaks, use a watering can. You can get them for $5-$10 from Bunnings or similar to test spots in isolation.

    If you do need to use silicone, use a neutral cure silicone or a specific automotive one as many silicones on the market are acetic cure (read it'll rust your care away).
