My 2 year old group 42 battery is leaking acid. Grrrr....
Does anyone know of a drop in gel battery? Any suggestions? My car does spend weeks at a time not being started. Something with a great reserve capacity? More cranking amps would be nice too...
I just use whatever battery will fit.
Best go talk to a battery shop. They are the experts.
I also have a battery isolator switch so whenever the car is parked for some time there is no drain on the battery. It's also a great way to prevent car fires through poor/old wiring shorting out when you're not there.
The other option is to fit one of these in the cabin but you need to get a couple of long thick cables to wire it in between the +ve battery terminal and the starter motor as well as wire any anciliary +ve cables to it.
