I will check out ebay and No I do not have spare a pillars for the golf. The one on the car are the ones I have. But hey, I have two projects now, I bought a VR6 Passat yesterday for $600 and it runs. Me and my dad will work on both cars between the two of us.

Well, the VR6 is actually for dad, so he can keep himself busy when he has nothing to go at home. The MK1 I am rebuilding is my girlfriends car and me and dad will just do all the mechanics and she will do all the paints etc for herself.

I might surprise you guys with this one, I haven't had time to start stripping and prepare the body for spray work because it isn't at my house, but I am trying to get it to my house ASAP so I can start all the prep work etc.

Anybody want to help, I will supply beer!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Body work I hate but anything mechanical I can usually bluff my way through.

Pick up my "new" MK1 tomorrow. When I get it sorted we need to get together and swap war stories.

    Cheers

    Paul

Yeah sure, but I am not going to be finish for a while. I have to get the body sorted out to stop it from rusting and to get the bigest part done before I can get my new engine in, new running gear etc. I am still deciding on the colour of the car which I am struggling with because I can't decide between the original or doing something different.

    Hey guys,

Haven't been on for a while. Can anyone give me websites for parts etc for the MK1 I have. Don't care if it's overseas or not. I want to start get some things for the car to keep myself busy with over weekends.

What parts are you looking for?

Some are best sourced local, others from Uk or Us.

Time to get a move along!!

Call GTI Imports in Sydney or have a chat to Peter Shelley at Canberra VW Centre before you buy this stuff from overseas. Best to buy local and they will support you down the track. And you never know what stuff they just have laying about you might pick up for cheap.
