Sorry for your loss mate that looks like a very sweet ride.
Stories like this always make me thankful that my girlfriend of 8 years not only loves them as much as i do but drives one herself.
Well, any hobby will have an end day. 3 years ago I bought this car for $900.00, a 2 doors Mk1 with Kjet is quite rare so I had no hesitation to pick it up, then the nightmare started, I have been kept spending money on it, body works, wheel hunting, buying incorrect parts etc, etc, at the end I've got what I wanted (a trophy in 2009 VW nat) but the mrs keep complaining it takes up the garage space and her bmw need to sleep outside every night. so I decided to let her go.
Last 2 photos when this guy inspected the car in transport depot, then it'll start its 4000km journey to the other end of this country. I wish the new owner will join this forum and enjoy the car.

Sorry to hear you are VW'less Eric.....glad I got those clear-front indicators from you, nonetheless.....
My suggestion.....do what I did...buy her a reliable 'Japanese VW', in my case yet another Subaru (our 5th) so she can enjoy the luxury and dependability and you'll then always have a reliable back-up for when your next VW is in pieces (yet again!!)
Cheers

So is it a reliable car now then ?? or am I likely to see the "new owner" needing parts here also ?? lol.
BMW's deserve to be parked outdoors, specially the newer models...
Good luck on finding a replacement .
Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...
If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??
Cheers,
Grant...
It is always reliable, I've never need to call a tow truck I can't imagine it will be parted out.
The new owner is a newbie here, he'll post up something when he get the car.
Replacement ....... hmmmmmmm I'm still thinking, am keep my eye open for Mk2 or latest Mk1 Cabrio
