    It was dismantled Dug, I actually sold it to help my daughter to fund getting the later model Mk1 Cabby. She was extremely lucky to get out of the prang unharmed, it copped most of the impact on the rhf wheel. I replaced the hub and drove it to the bodyworks for quotes. It still steered straight too! The other car, corolla, was a wreck.


    Her "new" Cabby is featured on TV down here in an ad for Bass & Equitable, a finance company. She gets $300 , full tank of fuel and detailing each time they borrow it!

    My car also has an original roof rack! I don't have a pic of it on but you can see the mounting point on the roll over hoop! Apparently they are super rare too!

    Heh... I jumped around like a fool when i saw that ad...
    I love all Cabbys (early ones expecially) they just make me smile

    GLI over here. Private import. Had the original 1.6 EG Heron motor. Later we installed a 288deg Schrick cam and went pretty strong for a 1.6

    Now its undergoing a makeover. (:
