god damn front seats - mk1

    Hi all

I must be losing my mind but trying to remove these front seats is doing my head in

I've removed the plastic crap from the runners
Removed the rounded nut from the front center runner
Removed both springs from the center runner

The only thing left I can see is completely removing the bolt that locks into the holes but I cant see that this can be removed without removing the lever which enables the seat to slide

Is their something in missing? They should just slide back and out if you lift them up a bit

    Its driving me &#%#&@ mad!

all you need to remove to take a mk1/2/3 seat out is the bolt/clip (depending on the year) in the front middle runner. once that is out, the seat is removed rearward. If it wont come out, its usually rust or carpet keeping it there. the plastic runners do not need to be removed.

The really early cars have a flat metal hook that lives on the bottom of the centre slider ( at front of seat, you need to remove the self tapper then prise the hook end up to allow the seat to move fully rearwards. Sounds like yours has the dome head nut and straight stud, make sure both pieces are removed. could be rust/ rubbish at the end of the side guideways or its catching the carpet. Usually pretty simple so there must be something you have yet to do.

    Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

    Cheers,
    Grant...
