The adjustment is in the gearchange shift rod clamp. It clamps the shift rod onto the selector lever. Loosen the clamp and rotate the shift rod until there is the required clearance between the shift finger at the end of the gear stick and the stop plate. Clearance for a 4speed is 20mm, 15mm for a 5speed. This, however, may not make much sense without diagrams to identify the various components.
