the B and C fuseboxes are for the carby golfs where as the A box is for the fuel injected cars as it has extra pins for the 5th plug. The B and C fuseboxes only have 4 plugs at the back mate. And no a B fusebox will not be correct for your car as the wiring is slightly different and requires some fiddling around.

depends, does your harness have 4 plugs or 5? the B &C boxes have no pins in one of the slots whereas the A's have pins in all 5 slots for 5 plugs

Pretty sure the 5th plug is for the early cars diagnostic port Luke, as all my injected cars run C versions. All are 79 or later build dates

there are some differences in the pin outs from the 'A' version to the 'b and 'C models.

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

    Already bought it

Its good to know the differences for future reference though.

just checked my plugs, black and blue plugs are for the dash loom, yellow for the rear lights harness, one white one for the headlights and front indicators, and one white one for Coil wires, reverse light switch, temp senders ect.
