    Anyone know a place where I can get a fuel tank reco'd?

    Sydney area.

    Imagine the suspension geometry
    Definitely not race car engineered
    Drive down the road and you wouldn't know what direction she'd go at the first pothole.

    Done up MKI's like that aren't daily drivers.

    i have to say, its copped a little bit of a beating with the ugly stick. Tyres are just too wide and too small a diameter to look right

    Yep, that's what I'm saying. It looks crap and the steering would be laughably heavy.

    Mk1s are known for good handling - why the hell throw 9" wide wheels on them unless they're for drag racing :roll:

    Admittedly, I just bought 15x8s for mine, but they're show only. Anything over 7" wide on a Mk1 is crap - as is anything over 15" in diameter.

    well i got 17'x8'' all round and my car handles like a go-kart, scares the **** out of me bacause it grips like anything, no understeer at all either
