front wheels won't fit over brakes...

hey guys, had a call from the guy who's building my golf atm, and he said rear wheels fit mint, but fronts are gonna clip the front brake calipers.. so i can either put spacers on them... or grind a divot out of the back of each spoke for clearence... (would only be small)

firstly... to grind or to space?? which are both going to work or is it case sensitive???

give me some advise as i want to get this show on the road ASAP and wheels are supposed to be the last thing on my mind right now!!

    cheers guys.

Which part of the brake calliper is it hitting? I had this issue on my mk1 so I took 5mm off the calliper mount which seems to protrude further than the rest. I didn’t have any issues and have seen it done before on VW's and BM's

There are different brake calipers, you could use the other type and solve the problem without grinding.

This is the exact same thing with VRs and calipers. The later give you more room to work with and more wheels to use without having to space them out

    I'd grind a calliper before a wheel.

    That's a ditto from me.

However fixing the problem with different calipers would be the best bet.

So, depends on what section of a caliper you'd need to grind. And safer than a spacer in the eyes of the law.
