    Flushing Fuel Tank

Went to go drop the left over diesel out of the Car, and it has no Drain hole under the tank.. WTF??

Both of my other cars do :S
Any tips on how to drain it without pulling tank, as i reaaaaaly cant be bothered with the extra hassle.
If there is a little diesel left in tank and i fill with petrol, will it effect the petrol engine much?

    Cheers,

I can't see a tiny bit of diesel doing any harm, but if there's a fair bit left in there try running the fuel pump without the fuel line connected to the carby. It'll just pump the fuel straight out of the tank

Drained my mates s13 tank like this

Why not make a hole? Use a screw as a plug after your done.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't most carbs have a gear driven fuel pump which only works if the engine is on?

What Josh said. Get as much out via the pump as you can and fill up to the top with petrol. May smoke a little on that 1st tankfull but next time you fill it up there shouldn't be any problems.

That'd be mechanical pumps, diesel golf's have them but not petrol golfs.

Wrong, petrol ones have a mechanical pump too, only works when engine is cranking or running.

Im going to drain as much as i can out the side feed hole, and fill tank with premium fuel..

I must have an odd Mk1, I have an electric pump in the tank itself, and another electric pump in the rear wheelarch, do I have a third mechanical lifter on the engine?
