    Finding a 2 Door Mk1 Golf

Been cruising around this section for a bit now, the more and more I look at the 2 door Mk1's - the more I want one as a project car! The deal is that after the missus and I get married in September (and try to stay out of debt ) I can buy myself a little project car....

Looking at spending under the 1.5-2k mark initially - it's not going to be a daily by any means so it doesn't need to be running or have rego but has to be a 2 door! I've been searching and I think I just need to be patient and wait for a bargain to come up...

Which leads me to, where did you find your Mk1 Golf? I've been trying all the usual places like ebay, carsales and on here...Suggestions of other forums or sources would be great...or if you know of one that is coming up for sale - even better

Anyway, gotta finish the thread with a tad of inspiration...

alot pop up on ebay, people just wanting to get rid of them. A few also pop up here. Patience is the biggest key.

I waited about 18months to buy the 'right' car (might even have been longer), for me it was a 76 2 door. Found it on the forum, also found one on carsales, but it as in QLD, and not the right money/risk ratio for me to purchase it blind.

So basically, be patient, but if you find the right car, pounce on it. You've got a good buget there too, should be able to get you something decent for that money.

Thanks for the heads up guys, will keep my eye out...hopefully the right buy comes around after the wedding! Povi's looks like a good buy, but right now isn't the right time. Are there any other aussie vw forums that you guys frequent?
