I was thinking the same thing...the racks take away from the toughness of the rest of the car at the moment. Bit of chop chop weld and I think she'll be apples!

oui dont ya'll be hatin on me roofracks!

Theyre not adjusted/even fitted yet but agreed they need to lose some height, once i get a free arvo ill be making some mounts taking out some height and straightening the bars.

can anyone advise a decent quality place to get crosshairs?

any ideas where to pick up some longer wheel studs for the front? theyre only sitting on about 10mil which i dont feel overly safe on, tried the usual places like supercheap, autopro and even the volkswagon dealers but so far nothings come up trumps.

also how much travel does everyone have on there coilovers when they push down on the front of the car? mine hardly move and although it doesnt feel like zero travel when im on the road im a bit worried about the strut towers getting a hammering. might take her into the pedders shop tomorrow and just get it all checked over

Tyre shops usually stock them or can get them.

Sometimes you can find some BMW ones at the wreckers that are a bit longer too.

mine are really stiff and have minimal travel too, that's just how they are. amplified by the fact that you have lower profile tyres which also have less sidewall flex.

no reason to go to pedders, unless something is actually wrong.

I'm guessing you got an alignment done after the install?

EDIT: BMW bolts are the go too. I have them on my wheels, as the standard bolts just don't feel quite enough, but the BMW ones should sort that.

thanks both for the heads up on the bmw bolts!

jarred- went into get the wheel alignment today, mate of mine works at tyrepower so i thought i may aswell go in there, put the stockies back on so they didnt damage my wheels, got it on the ramps and a few of the older fellas thought the front shocks had seized due to the lack of travel! after a while i assured them they were coilovers but thought it might pay to just check with pedders and make sure my towers arent going to get molested.

so by very harsh on the front we're talking only a few cm? as thats about what mine go down with the stock wheels on, doesnt feel massively stiff when driving though

few centimetres is probably pushing it. I've got 185/45's so they're low profile and have a bit of stretch (stiffer sidewall) and i don't have a few cm's of movement. you push down on a fender, and, well, it doesn't go far at all. 1 cm if i'm lucky.

push down on the fender with the stockies, and you'll see the tyre sidewall flex a move around, that's probably where you're getting the movement atm.

I think Dom has probably had his hottuning's in for the longest time, and well, he's shock towers havn't fallen out yet.
