    although you could prob see them
    from the driving position even the l/h one

    EWw! No wide arch body kits please guys! Leave the orginal and best the way it came out of the factory....besides for racing ,doesnt that stuff weigh a tonn....the Mk1 has probs with aerodynamics as it is without having those things bulgin' out of the sides!!!

    Keep it simple i say!

    I thought that VW produced the golf to get away from the running boards that the beetle had

    Might not be though - it has slots in the top of the front flares, different number on it ...

    When I had a look at the web site, I made another interesting discovery -
    at the bottom of the page, there's a (scanned I think) photo of the old
    Autocavan Golf - geez I haven't seen that picture in 20 years...
    One of the first 1800 Golf sports sedans in the UK - still got the photocopy
    of the article actually. I'll see if I get time to scan it back in you guys - its a good read...
