    European style studs

Hey guys, i was curious, rather than using the European style and using bolts/studs, is there a way to put in bolts on the hub, so that you can use a nut instead. Kinda of like a Honda?

For example, for people using spacers, they need to have longer bolts, however what if a bolt was put in and inverted into the hub, that way spacers could be used, and you could use nuts instead. Which would make it a hell of a lot easier to put a wheel on

I assume its easy for the drums brakes, but what about discs? I hope i am making sense.. hahah

    Any advice would help.

I know Racingline and 034Motorsports make a stud conversion for the VW Golf. About $400 i believe.

Most stud conversions would be for bigger diameter bolts. So check you're getting the right ones. To be honest though the wheels are so light I'm sure what the attraction for studs is? Pile on

$400 for 16 bolts and nuts? Someone is making a lot of money.

Just get a machine shop to put a tread on each end of a grade 10 rod (16 of them) and get 16 wheel nuts off a car at the wreckers.

Get the wheel nuts first. Must be the same thread as your current VW wheel studs so the thread at both ends of the new studs is the same (cuts down costs).

Wheel nuts must also suit your wheels, same shape for the mating surface.

You want something like this but only threaded at the ends so it's stronger. Length to suit your car and wheels.

Personally I would want rolled thread studs rather than cut threads which are much more likely to suffer fatigue related cracking at the thread roots
