Thanks mate! I got the driver's side in and will do the passenger tonight. It's looking so close to complete inside. Really wish my steering hub adapter would turn up.

Nope, not yet. I just booked a car trailer and it's off to the electrical doctor tomorrow! I'm really excited.

Today was a super productive day - my favourite kind. Headed up to Hornsby early and grabbed a car trailer for 3 hours.

Loaded him up and got strapped down for the trip. Over the last couple of nights I finished putting the interior together completely, but forgot to take photos. I'll grab some when my steering hub adapter arrives.

From my place we took it to The Rev Doctor who was recommended by Peter Bower at Bower Power. Scott is a really great bloke and I'm confident he'll have the car sorted to 100%.

After that I took a drive down to see Matt at Camden GTI. He really came through and I managed to score a whole mess of bits for a great price. Brand new front and rear chrome bumpers, rubbing strips and end caps, longer wheel studs that I need for my spacers, two front grilles, passenger side shelf for under the dash, a handbrake cover and a cluster surround.

One thing I am desperately chasing is a driver's side headlight surround with the chrome still in tact. Can anyone help out?

    The plan now is:

    - Scott gets the car running
    - Drive it up the road from his workshop to a bodyshop to have the paintwork touched up in places and buffed
    - Fit the new bumpers, grille, front lip, badges, new taillights and new wheels
    - Take it in for a blue slip and get it registered
    - Off to Peter Bower for a once over and a retune

And that's it! It felt amazing to have it out of the shed and in the sunlight. Sitting in it makes me want to drive it so badly. Hopefully it won't be long now.

I'm extremely pleased to say that the car is running!

Scott got a chance to look at it today and it's all sorted. It was something so simple that I missed when putting it together. One of the two modules used to control the spark with the KE-Jetronic system looks like a big heatsink with a plug on top, and I didn't realise that the heatsink actually has to be mounted to the body as a ground for that circuit. I had it just sitting in the rain tray and that was enough to prevent the coil from giving the fuel relay a pulse, and it didn't generate any spark!

Cannot wait to see it running and take it for a quick drive tomorrow morning. It'll be going straight to the panel shop after that.
