    electrical problem

    hey guys

as some know i had a little bit of an elec problem a few months back
well some of us thought it has to do with the ignition switch,

well its starting again, the issue is, as im driving the battery light will come on, now when it comes on, i cant stop and idle at a set of lights as it will stall......

so as i was cruising down the street and the battery light came on, i actually tried tapping the dashboard, funnily enought the light switched off and the car could stay running at a set of lights?!?!?!?!

i have now narrowed it down to wires or something playing up in the dashboard but have no idea what it could be? when the battery light comes on its like i have turned off the ignition and kept driving....... if i come to a stop..... the motor dies, also if im cruising and take my foot off the pedal, it has a sharper decelleration compared to the normal foot off the pedal

any ideas would be great as i would like to get this fixed coz its the only annoying problem on the car!!!!

    thankyou
    dom

Have you checked the alternator yet? Can't hurt to put a voltmeter across the batt to determine the alt is still working proper.

that's where I'd start anyways. Then I'd start pulling the dash apart...

Hey Dom, this is the same issue I am having with my car! My battery light is constantly on, esp at night when the light are on. Only difference is that I think its a mix of alternator and carb issue as once it is warmed up it drives almost normally.

I tested my alternator yesterday and sure enough, its undercharging, ill bring my gizmo on wednesday and we can check yours out.
