    dyno fun

Spent the morning on the dyno trying to get rid of a little miss under load in the Caddy. Once the mixture was leaned off and it ran smooth to 6500 a little more power was chased.Tried everything ,41 degees of timing at 20 psi, pouring water over the intercooler, just couldn't crack the 150kw mark.I like round numbers and being a bees **** short was just annoying. To make matters worse the miss came back only when driving on the street and it pinged just a little bit.Next Saturday its back to the drawing board- grt rid of the miss and crack the 150 mark.

    What ECU are you using?
Do you have a Knock link to watch for pinging?

Ended up with 148kw after 8 or 9 ramps with a good cool down after every 2 runs.I use an Autronic and the knock sensing is purely human ears.

maybe you need more boost... haha. 20psi is pretty good for a gasser. you could try some water/meth injection to up the boost. given your already running a lot of extra pressure some water in the mix should help get your compressor efficiency up higher. just my 2c.

I just figure if I drive to the coast at sea level I should pick up the 2kw.Living in the mountains has it's disadvantages power wise.

I'm not sure on the specs of the K04 but on my 1.8l 16vt with a garret gt28rs I was cracking pretty much spot on 150kw@wheels at 11.5psi. One thing I remember from the tuning process at "The Hitman" at Penrith (I was very impressed with his knowledge and general consultation during the entire tune) was that he discovered a peculiar thing when tuning the ignition map - if he advanced beyond a certain point the power would drop off even though the engine would not yet ping. Basically he said the engine did not like pulling big advance. Not sure if this is relevant for a 20vt motor or not but just thought I'd mention. By the way the engine I tuned - the 2.0l supercharged AGG 8v seemed to do a similar thing - advance past a certain point and the power would drop off without pinging. It was pointless advancing past a certain point but I was just doing that motor by drive test, no dyno, so can't be sure of figures.
