DX engines

my son,s 87 cabbie has a 1.8DX engine(carbie model). i haven't read anywhere people mentioning this model, so i'm curious to know how compatible it is with other 8V's. looking at the pictures on other mk1/2 posts, it looks identical?

The bottom ends are the same, it's a GTI short motor regardless of the head on it. IIRC all 1781 cc short motors will fit.
