Hey Dubstar, great build you've got going there mate.
Where did you go to get the poly anti roll bar bushings?
Great work there. Not sure if those carpets have been lifted since 1976! Any serious / worrying rust there?

KEEPING THE BIG CUBES IN THE REAR VISION MIRROR
Thanks for the comments. Still continuing with the stripping, so fingers crossed.
The ARB bushes were a PITA to find. Some places sell one size but not the other, then superpro ran out of the fronts, so I had to order Australian made bushes from the UK!
Try Burson's, then supercheap and then overseas.
Question for the day.
There are holes pressed into the footwell plate (circled in red). Can anyone tell me if the cavity underneath has a drain? Where does it drain to on the underside?
There's no drain but there is a couple of plugged up holes you can pull the bung out of.
I'll see if I can find a picture.
Here's a good one!
You might have to dig around in the under seal to find it.

Here's the one on the other side.
That bracket is the mount for the rear of the suspension arm so if you dig around just to the outside of the bracket under the car you should find the plug.

Been a while since I updated.
I have POR 15'ed the floor now. I actually found a spot that needed a weld, so cut it out and got it welded. Then I followed the POR guidelines:
1. Scrub with Marine Clean and rinse well.
2. Wire brush everything and then scour the surface with green 3m pads to 'key' the surface.
3. Marine Clean, scrub and rinse again. Then dry everything with a heat gun.
4. Soak in Metal Ready for a minimum of 30 minutes. Rinse and then dry really well with a heat gun.
5. 2 coats of por 15.
It looks good and solid, ready for putting back together
That POR 15 stuff looks crazy, it's an anti rust paint right? Are you going to do the whole interior with it, or just the rust prone areas?
Interesting about that drain, I had no idea.. Might see if I can find mine on my beast and give it a clean/rust kill/wax through there.
Keep it up man, looks good!
POR 15 looks awesome! well done. it also looks like it has a very nice shine to it, outer coating perhaps?
But no really, I like to look distinguished when I step out of the car. People are like, "wonder what he does for living."
I just reply, "your daughter, sir." - some dude on stanceworks
I had fixed half the broken crap but that just meant it was still halfway inoperable
POR 15 is anti rust and rust treatment in one (when you use the whole system, not just the top coat). I have just done the floors up to the seams. No need to do anywhere else as the paint is good and no point in stripping good paint. The orangey stuff you see in the pixcture is just the residual glue for the carpet.
