    Welding rod

I fixed the trigger on the passenger door handle of my silver GLD with a piece of welding rod. Not original but it works
The most important thing to do is to lubricate the mechanism. If this is nice and slippery the latches will work nice and smoothly. If they're stiff then you'll end up breaking the trigger.

Oh.. Does anybody have some door handle gaskets for the Mk1?

And while we're on the subject of handles...what about locks? My red GLD has keys that are so worn my Mrs refuses to take it to town in fear that she can't unlock it (I can...there's a knack ) I went into a Mr Fixit in Devonport and a very rude proprietor told me that if he cut a new key for me the "peaks" on the profile wouldn't be there so it would be no better. Gone are the days of a locksmith with a file
