Those wheels look pretty good. I think they're sportmaxx's? Check US ebay for Sportmaxx or XXR wheels. plenty of good fitments & a heap of sizes. they're all old school jap wheel knock offs too. Landed for about 1 G.

I'd go for a et15, if they had em. ET 15 will poke from the front by about 20 odd mm. et0 is very agressive and will poke by about 35mm. (too much)

You'll need rolled arches for sure. tyre choice would dictate how low you can do.

the rear track on a mk 1 is about 5 or 6mm skinnier, the the front track - per side.

So if the front is poking 20mm, the back would only poke about 15mm. Exact measurements vary from car to car, and even arch to arch!

If you can get a 15x7 for the front and 15x8 for the back, i reckon that would be a good set up. (but I enjoyed staggered fitments! )

You'll see a few cars everynow and then (or vortex and stuff) with the same spec wheels all round, and they'll have spacers on the back, to even up the poke, or even increase the rear end poke.

    hope this helps.

yea. Remember though. If you are going to get 8's. it will poke. no if's or but's about it. Having said that. It can work!

ET15 on a 8 with a 165/50 tyre will be fine on the back once the lips are rolled, you can also slam the crap out of it too with minimal/no rubbing issues

i had ET07 with 165/50's and i could only fit 1 extra person in the car with me
