in my defense, i could use a camber adjustment bolt in it if using a normal one would anger too many people

k mac has a adjustable top nut type thing in which you drill out the strut housing and it has an eccentric bolt type thing, i ran them on my mk2 and they where ok, they give heaps more adjustment than the wobbly vw bolt

I presume that you mean filling the current hole and drilling another?
Don't just elongate the current one - that bolt comes under considerable lateral pressure in hard cornering - the struct could move suddenly leading to an abrupt change in camber/toe-in.
Not real pleasant in the middle of a corner I can tell - happened to me once.
Ended up on the other side of the road very smartly
(no, I didn't elongate the hole - the bolt twisted because it wasn't tight enough)

my car has in the past had an incident with a gutter, meaning i can get only -0.1 deg camber on the passenger side.... in that incident the shock absorbe was bent slightly and wishbone was wrecked, along with a wheel (a long time ago). i think that my strut is a little bent (shock replaces long ago too ) and so i though aobut this..

i was not thinking of modifying the upper adjustment hole, but the lower one, by elongating the hole through the strut (not the upright) so that it could be adjusted like the top.

    cheers

ps - how much neg is enough for really hard driving on road tyres (185/60 / 14) anyway?

what I did was fill the lower hole in the strut then weld a 3mm thick washer to each side then redrilled the hole 3mm further out that way I didnt have to use camber adjustment pins which were flogging out regularly at the same time I increased the castor by using commodore stut tops which are offset
The car has been running autocross for three years like this with no dramas obviously it not set up for road use or to conserve tyres Cheers T
