Do I have worn CV joints?

    Hey Guys,
I have a rumbling noise coming from the front end, most noticeable when accelerating uphill and seems to be coming from the right hand side.
I suspect the CV joints on the r.h.s driveshaft are worn because a recent r.h.s. outer CV boot failure and subsequent cleaning, repacking and new boot has quietened the rumbling a fair bit.
There's no "clicking" noise at full steering lock as might be expected with CV joint wear.

Does worn CV's sound feasible or should I look elsewhere?

Not too familiar with FWD and it's quirks so any advice is appreciated.

Did you do this or have it done? Once dismantled & cleaned it is obvious if there is any wear in the joint.
Understand how it works, troubleshoot logically BEFORE replacing parts.

could be the wheel bearing too - if you removed driveshaft and retorqued the axel nut you may have caused the bearing noise to change a little.

Yeah if the bearing was flogging itself to death it would become loose. If you nipped it back up when you put it back together, the noise would be much quieter.

I did the outer joint and it did have some visible wear but no pitting as circled, more like the other areas of visible wear in the photo.

I didn't even think to test the wheel bearing in the housing.Der.
I torqued the axle nut with a torque wrench but can't compare as someone else did it before me.

I'm getting some suspension bushes replaced next week so I'll check all the CV's and the wheel bearings while it's on the hoist.

    Thanks for your help everyone.
