    Diesel to petrol conversion

Hey I'm just trying to gather some information on a conversion I wanted to start awhile ago!! I've got an immaculate 1980 GLD that i had brought mid year which doesn't run, bottom end had been destroyed. ive stripped the engine bay ive only got the wires and brake hoses left which im going to leave. I recently brought an adz 1.8 8v and a 5 speed box which I'm goig to put in, I'm just chasing up an engine mount and gearbox mount that I would need for this project so far doesn't look too good!
I had a good look at the engine itself and it will obviously need extra wiring done due to being a
Later model engine with extra sensors + I'm going from diesel to petrol which I will need a an electronic fuel pump wired up.
If anyone has come across this conversion would you be able to pass me a link to your success!!
    Thanks
    Steve

I've got 3 cars that were originally Diesel, 4 if you count Ziggy.

Ziggy was the only one I converted myself the other all had petrol motors in them when I got them.

    I've replaced the 1600 that was in red with a MK3 1800.

    White came with a GX K-Jet 1800 , that's got a 2.0 in it now.

Frank (Passat) came with a high comp 1600.

All of them were originally diesel cars.

Your '97 golf motor is only more complicated if you keep the fuel injection.

The motor itself is a throttle body which I've understand it to be a carby not injected?
I've got the dizzy distrubiter that runs electronically (got wires/plug going to it) would I need to get a vaccume dizzy to make this process easier?
