I know this is a OLLLLLDDDD thread,

But gldgti, do you remember what jets you ended up with?
atm im on same setup, 1600 with a 32/36, its been rebuilt, new gasket, seals powervalve , needle seat ect.

Jets are same as what you where running,

Whee accelerating it feels fine till you get into second side and it doesnt feel any different, just a loud burble noise, no backfiring or stuttering though.

And when i deccelerate it starts to buck, same when on cruise mode (light throttle at any speed)

I don't really remember at the moment....

maybe it had 135 air correctors.... 60 idles... i really don't remember. Sorry!

I know I did have it running ok.... what engine is it on? I got the impression that with a std 1.6 the second choke didnt make all that much difference to the power (a little, but not a lot). I think an engine set up to flow a bit more air would benefit more. This might mean that the jetting I had for the primary circuit was too much fuel.

Is this actually the old carbie I had...? was it you I sold it too? Sorry I can't remember

Nah mate, i bought it else where,

Im running a 55 idle main, 50 seconds
    140 main, 150 main seconds
160 air primary, 165 air seconds

put those in today and it made a difference, feels better.

    I just keep tinkering

My old MK1 with the 1600 (20 years ago) was noticibly quicker with a carbie change and extractors. Made for a really nice car to drive in town. Still doesn't beat a 1800 engine swap though. The extra torque of the 1800 ment no down changes when it came to hills.

Yeah i got a 1600 with weber and extractors. goes alright. The 1800 i got is much better, tempted to swap it in but i cant be bothered setting up a electric pump and what not.

Just to confirm are you running a 32/36 carb on a 1600 with these jets? Since I recently got a 32/36 DGAV but was fitted on a 1800 so Im thinking about re-jetting to make it more efficient on my 1600.

    yes i am mate,

needs some work, im no carb expert, and i could do with a ignition upgrade
But it works atm, and i can feel the seconds kick in alot better now, where as before it was rather "flat"
