Hmmm.....I thought this might be an issue. This will just mean I'll have to replace with the std struts to clear the vicroads, or perhaps just raise it using the coilovers and hope they wont notice.

Anther thing I noticed this morning walking past the car, the defect notice has the 'major' box ticked as apposed to the 'minor'.....

Will have to call vicroads to check what the deal is....

Anyone here had a defect notice and can comment on the vicroads inspection in clearing a defect (i.e. how thorough they are)?

Just saw this thread then! congrats on getting a defect! hahahah

If you need, I've got standard spare suspension (ie, parts car) we can just swap it all over if you want, to clear it, and chuck the coils back in once you've got the defect cleared.

Jarred, this will come in VERY handy as my brother has 'misplaced' the std struts You have PM!!!

Also just read the defect notice that it requires a RWC to clear it.
I'm still (foolishly) hoping that a RWC may be given once the defect notice request is cleared (i.e. ride height) and doesn't require the other issues that a regular RWC will undoubtedly pick up.

    Will keep you lot posted.

Whats the go with that? Is that a Victorian thing??

I have always been told that coils are legal it's just the ride hieght that has to be within limits??

From the way the defect notice reads, its almost up to the discretion of the officer weather he/she wants a full RWC. Or perhaps ride height is a 'major' defective item which requires a RWC.

It is however, news to me that coilovers are illegal. Kinda dont really understand the logic of it though.

Might be best to PM the details rather than post on a public forum though.....

So...............defect number 2 a few hrs ago. FML.

The usual ride height and poke.

If anyone has easy RWC mechanics, please PM. I need someone that will turn a blind eye to coilovers (car will be all good in terms of ride height, wheels/tyres etc).
