You might still be able to swap the carb for a progressive weber like a DGAV or something.

Ideally you you want something off another automatic car so you get the idle up function and the kick down ability.

It'll take a bit more research or perhaps a trip to a carby specialist for advise.

I'll have a poke around and see what I can figure out.

Thanks! I'll see what I can find.

    Meanwhile:
Last weekend I started to take a look at my bumpers. Both front and rear needed to get the plastic freshened up and the rear was a bit loose. So I removed to them to see if it was something a quick weld could fix....

... But no. I think a new complete set is needed. But I kinda like the bumperless-racecar-look. Or perhaps I might go for a set of the small chrome bumpers instead. Love the look of those.

    The bumperless look is rad..

Small bumpers are awesome but can also set you back $500+ if you dont source second hand, theres usually a lot of spares etc on the for sale section here. its where i got mine anyways

    Looks good, mate!

The 010 autos are strong as hell. There's a company in the states what makes some crazy parts for them. They fit them to transaxles in offroad buggies behind 600hp LS chev engines and all sorts of stuff!

Listen to Pete. He's been there and done most things. Pretty knowledgeable bloke. Good to see you're still on here helping people out!

Good to see still kicking about here too Chris.

I've been spending a lot of time lately helping Amarok owners wire up their trucks and haven't been too chatty on here.

I've had a pretty rough couple of years. Next time I see you i'll explain over a beer. Haha.

That's the mob. Tim B bought a heap of gear from them for the 010 he was going to build and I think Dom has done the same.

I finally bought an engine!!! Not a ADZ as I probably should have but I took another route bought a PL. That's the 1.8 16v. It might turn out to be a stupid idea because I have no clue where to start. I want to keep the electronic fuel injection but my electric skills are non existent. Time will tell if this will be a success or not.

Expect a lot of questions in the near future!

You could always fit twin carbies and bypass all the fuel injection worries.

It definitely does look great. But I tell myself the car would be more reliable with injection.

Finally a tiny bit of progress! The old engine is out!
Next step is to mate the 16v to my auto gearbox and put it back in.

I'm probably gonna skip the CIS-E system and use carbs. Most likely bike carbs as funds are limited. I'm still not sure what I'm gonna use for spark though... Suggestions?
