**** cheap coilovers and **** cut springs, both are dangerous and both should be illegal...

loose springs are not a good idea as they will not move around you could loose control with bump steer also masmatch corner rates wont help..

Get a cup kit for ~700 bucks, H&R, Koni or what ever it doesnt really matter, choose your height and enjoy driving your car without worrying bout the potential danger you might otherwise be putting yourself and other in.

    A couple of things....

    1) Dont start these threads, anyone, ever again.

    2) Cutting a spring certainly does make it stiffer, because the spring rate (in force per unit length, e.g. lb/in, kg/m, N/mm) is a linear function of the length of the spring. if you make a linear coil spring 20% shorter, it will be 20% "stiffer". Thats a fact. i.e if you have a 500N/mm spring with 10 coils, and you cut one coil off, it will be approximately 550N/mm.

    3) If something is TUV approved (like hottuning coilovers) its probably not "dangerous" in the sense that it will fail and cause an accident.
