It's actually not very expensive - far cheaper than good chrome plating - but either way, that VHT paint is ok if you clean the surface really well. I ran my old car for two years with some of that and it never peeled

sweet. because im getting the corrosion sand blasted off so it should be a clean surface!!! so the paint should work?

I think silver and most shades of grey look great. That's what I've done with mine for the time being. At the end of the day, if you want to drive the car properly, there's no point chroming or polishing too much because it's impossible to maintain - the belts spit crap everwhere; letalone all the road crud spraying up up. A few touches of gold look good too.
