c'mon mate, we need more info than that.
you say 'near new' - so whats that? 2 weeks, 6 months?
who replaced it? what was replaced - did you change pressurep late aswell, and have your flywheel machined, or was it just the friction plate.
did you change the crankshaft big end seal?
does your gearbox leak oil
is oil dripping out of the bellhousing?
do you have the appropriate covers on the end of the bellhousing to prevent water/oil/grip from entering?
the answers to all these questions may yeild your problem....

Drop the box and do some investigationing.
My money is on some contaminate on the clutch
dropping the box will have to happen soon...
no machining of the pressure plate or flywheels were done and I replaced the clutch myself!
near new as in, less than 2000kms on it!

Time to do it again then mate, and do a double check to the list of gldgti's.
Should get 100,000 kms out of a clutch job if you make sure there are zero oil leaks.

My Mk1 was running a standard 190 clutch. Never had any probs except when the clutch cable started to fray.
The inner cable begins to fail and frays, grabbing on the outer cable and thus not allowing the clutch to fully engage. New cable fixed everything.
Hope that helps..

Hey mate,
I had a similar problem on my old corolla
the clutch was brand new but would slip badly and the pedal would sometimes sit on the floor.
Turned out one of the springs had gone on the clutch disc, easy fix and was replaced for free (as was under warranty).
Hopefully this helps you a little
