Sounds like the CV to me, if it is constant - or the driveshafts might be fouling if you have lowered it THAT far and it happens when there is suspension travel!
I've have an issues with my gf's cabbie. When turning right there is a constant clunking noise. Coilovers were installed yesterday along with complete wishbones, ball joints, and top mounts. I was hoping this would help however the noise is still there.
I know it's not the axle knocking on the wishbone as the noise was there with standard suspension. It also doesn't sound like the normal noise I am used on other vehicles with a dodgy cv joint but should this be where I look next?
Another thing is that it doesn't seem to make the noise until you been driving for a couple of minutes.
Cheers
Nick

Thanks mate, Sounds like the cv then as it was making the noise before the coils went in. Who in aus would carry cv's (apart from a dealer) and any idea of cost?
Ring andrew robinson automotive in hobart or GTI imports Glaston. Google them.

If its always when your turn right and not when you turn left its because you've gone to low. The drive shafts need to be shortened. Happened on my mk1 and mk2, the more i raised it the more the noise went away
Jarrad has looked in to it, ask him.

If it is a stuffed CV, which one do you replace then? The inner, or outer? Just I've started to have similar noises occur and I'd like to order the parts as soon as possible so I can install all the parts I have stockpiled in one hit!
Take the shaft with the joints to a CV specialist (ask a good mechanic to suggest one) and they can usually recondition them

VW - Metallic Paint, Radial Tyres, Laminated Windscreen, Electric Windows, VW Alloy Wheels, Variable Geometry Exhaust Driven Supercharger, Direct Unit Fuel Injection, Adiabatic Ignition, MacPherson Struts front, Torsion Beam rear, Coil Springs, Hydraulic Dampers, Front Anti-Roll Bar, Disc Brakes, Bosch ECU, ABS
Any idea of what that would be cost wise? Because if it's close enough to the price of new ones I may as well just replaced them..
Definitely another idea though..
