I was going to hit up a small business on the GC who do wheel mods as I think that is an easier option than sending them away to someone like Whitehorse, but the Type A knockies are fairly cheap, so I thought I'd get them instead and ponder what to do with the steels.

May I ask where you can get your rubber that cheap from?
I saw it on an eBay listing... I'll see if I can get it for you and shoot you a PM! They are Nangkang N2s.

Haha, I'm not going to question your intelligence, but that photo was from the previous owner and I guess that is the easiest route for the cooler lines . The cooler isn't currently fitted at the moment, but when I get round to it, I will see if I can route it another way. But I don't know if I will, as the grill is already cut to provide.

So I was a bit bored and found a scissor jack, so thought I'd whack on a new roller to see what it's like.

I reckon it'll transform the whole car. Can't wait to get tyres. I am thinking of leaving the tyres until I am back from Sydney and getting a RWC first... but I'll probably reverse that now. While I am sitting here typing this, I should have just put the steelie as a stand and jacked the wheel up, but I'm not a huge fan of dodgy things, although I'd probably have done it lolz0rdz.

I will have to get another jack or something as we have no wood (Dodgy Dave special) to lower the wheel onto so I can compress the spring as it were sitting on the ground. I imagine the wheel will come in a bit once it's lowered etc, and might need to hit the guards again with a roller/trolleypole/mallet.

Also gonna need some biiiiiiiiig hubcentric rings! About 15mm I believe.

look at that poke! are you going to roll the arches, i have not given rolling the arches a go yet its on my bucket list of FAB jobs to learn haha

Well, I'm hoping that when it is lowered on the ground and the spring compresses, it'll settle down, also with neg camber as well. I do have easy access to a guard roller, and it seems they have been hit at some point in the past. But I could definitely get more out of them with some swear words and persistence! I hate doing it, so am going to avoid it if I can

    Haha, thanks DAVOOOO

So I got them wrapped in Nangkang N2s, 185/45/15s, $99ea fitted and bal. Gecko Tyres in Northgate, good dudes, owner has a rad Evo III and is a pretty cool gui. I got two wheels done just in case there were problems and I'd rather fork out for two other tyres than a full set.

Chucked the hubcentric rings on which I got off eBay, brand new, full set for 30 bones delivered. I've asked before, but is running something made of alloy that will basically be pressed against two different metals be a bad thing? I remember people saying that about spacers...

    Glass of Golden Oak's finest

    Front

    Rear

Pretty happy none the less. I am going to drop the front 15mm and give the guards all round some love. Rear is pretty much bang on, maybe take out a locking collar just for a few extra millz.

Thanks guys! I don't think I'll have too many issues flying under the radar here. Although the only time I've ever been defected was in QLD.... my old car didn't have an exhaust, ran around like that for about four months in West. Sydney haha. Aiming for end of March to get it rego and errthang!
