No real updates. Been driving it on weekends/when I get the chance. Got my first defect in him yesterday, just the usual stuff. Probably going to lower it more and roll the guards more on the weekend. On the hunt for some camber tops and shims as well. If you have any/know of any, hit us up!

It was an eBay store, but I had read it wrong, worked out to be about 95 delivered. Which is still pretty good, but I got these fitted locally cheaper.

    Hi mates,

Looking at buying some gauges next week because I'm paranoid and like to see what is going on. I haven't been able to find anything about installing aftermarket gauges; does anyone have anything or can swing some advice? I am chasing VDO gauges to still keep it era-correct and stock looking.

    Etc, and an oil pressure.

Oil pressure is pretty easy dude, the sensor should just screw into the cast piece where your oil filter is (on the top), run the wires through, hook up earth, power, and ignition coilwires to the ignition, then badabing badaboom! Oil pressure gauge
I've got a Podi one in the two door and I love it. Definitely worth the money (roughly $150 to my door, and that was gauge, sender, wiring harness, and installation guide)
    If you want photo's though..

VDO Gauges are good kit though, i've got a tonne going into the four door. Period correct as well! They are fairly costly though. Cockpit Vision is the series that suit the Mk1 gauges best if I remember correctly

    Hey Todd,

Check these out - I've got them in my Mk1 (yet to wire up) but they come with all senders. They will swap out the gauges as requested you just have to email them first. Shipping took 2-3 weeks but i reckon it's worth it.

Oh mate, that is good as. I honestly have barely looked at my engine bay as I find one thing and get side tracked and fix something else etc, but that is real rad that they already have a "sandwich plate" already. I just checked mine out and it is all good to go. I will definitely look into the Podi ones as well; never heard of them, so am interested to see what they are like! I just searched the VDO ones as yeah, I like period correct items when avail!

Hey buddy, that's real funny as that is the same eBay seller who I have saved for the VDO gauges I am after! That actually sounds easier than doing what I was doing: I emailed him asking about combined postage/all of that for the gauges I was after, and he just said he'd refund me whatever the difference was to paying like 5+ item listing postages... but I'll hit him up about swapping some gauges out for some other ones and Robert's your Mother's brother!

    Thanks guys, really appreciate it!

    Ok, another question...

I want to run my oil cooler very soon, but it appears I cannot if I run oil gauge/s. Is there anything like a T-piece that I can get so I can plug in the gauge off where it should be, but still run the cooler? Google isn't really helping me at the moment. I know with previous cars I was able to do this with a relocation kit, but trying to avoid that for now.
